Community Cleanup and Paint Positive

On the first Saturday of every month, the Moniba Foundation conducts a major clean-up in a different community, providing volunteers with t-shirts, gloves, safety items, cleaning materials, and food. Since 2019, the Foundation has led over 60 major clean-up initiatives in Monrovia and surrounding areas.

Beginning in 2024, the Paint Positive Initiative coincides with the Clean-Up, transforming abandoned and dilapidated walls into vibrant murals of hope, unity, nation-building, and self-confidence. This initiative addresses not only the visible scars of Liberia’s civil war but also the psychological impact of poverty, violence, and lack of opportunities.

3-Steps to PAINT POSITIVE:

  1. Collaborate with the youth leader in each community to select a wall location.
  2. Conduct a one-day civic education forum on nation-building, commitment, and service.
  3. Provide materials and artists to create inspirational artwork while volunteers clean the community.

Sponsor a Wall:

Honor yourself, a family member, or an organization by sponsoring a wall and training exercise, with your/their name recognized through the artwork – creating a lasting, visible impact in the community.
