Our mission at the Moniba Foundation is to serve as a positive force for change throughout the country by building human capital.

We do so by supporting, in a targeted way, initiatives in education, advocacy for gender and children’s rights, and leadership training along with civic engagement for the youth.

Our vision is to impact as many people, in as many communities, as possible.

OUR VALUES

Helping Liberians Achieve Success

WEEK OF GIVING

The 3rd week of every month is known as the WEEK OF GIVING for the Moniba Foundation.  For the five working days (Monday – Friday), the Foundation donates an assortment of food and cleaning supplies, school materials, in-kind donations and financial support to orphanages, schools, hospitals/clinics, police stations,  sports teams, safe houses, faith based institutions and other local not for profit organizations.  Since its program inception in 2020, hundreds of entities, and thousands of children, and low income and disadvantaged Liberians have benefitted from our monthly Week of Giving.

LOANS

With Liberia having one of the lowest per-capita incomes in the world, our Foundation understands how important it is for professionals to have access to both short and long-term loans. Subsequently, the goal of the Moniba Foundation is to provide financial access to thousands of people who work in key, but low-paying sectors that empower Liberia’s economy and its society.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Every year, the Valedictorian of each university in the country will be awarded the Dr. Harry F. Moniba Excellence Award, which comes with it a prize of a laptop, a financial purse and a recognition plaque. This award is intended to ensure merit based effort is rewarded by the Foundation in order to encourage excellence, hard work and dedication.

COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

On the first Saturday of every month, the Moniba Foundation participates in a major clean up exercise within a different community. Activities include providing t-shirts, gloves and other safety items, cleaning materials/supplies, and food for the community clean-up volunteers. Since this program started in 2019, the Moniba Foundation has participated in over 60 major clean up initiatives in the capital city of Monrovia and its environs.

Working towards a better Liberia

The Moniba Foundation is helping to build a new reality that will usher in a better educated, cleaner and more vibrant Liberia now, and for future generations.
