Dr. Harry F. Moniba Excellence Award
VALEDICTORIAN
Every year, the Valedictorian of each university in the country will be awarded the Dr. Harry F. Moniba Excellence Award, which comes with it a prize of a laptop, a financial purse and a recognition plaque. This award is intended to ensure merit-based effort is rewarded by the Foundation in order to encourage excellence, hard work and dedication.
Institutions Eligible for the award include:
- AME University
- AME – Zion University
- Cuttington University
- Stella Maris Polytechnic University
- Starz College
- Tubman University
- University of Liberia
- United Methodist University
Leadership Award
The cultivation and support of leaders, at all levels of Liberia’s society, is key to the country’s development. Understanding that the majority of the country is comprised of young people with the national average age being 19, the Moniba Foundation supports student leaders making a positive impact on their fellow peers at both the high school and College level. The Leadership Award is therefore provided to students who serve as:
- Class Presidents
- Student Union Presidents
- Student Club Leaders
- And other related student run organizations.
Financial Aid
Over the past 14 years, the Moniba Foundation has provided tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships to hundreds of students who come from every region of the country. Supporting students at all levels pursuing different degrees and certificates, from high school, to vocational and technical schools, to colleges and universities, the Moniba Foundation is committed to making sure that the young people of Liberia have the opportunity to thrive.
Awarded based on a combination of merit and need base, individual students, and financial support to larger student organizations are renewed annually.
